Our Writing Studio Manager – Ruth Turner-Blood – recently visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Though she was incredibly impressed with all the exhibitions, one particularly resonated with Ruth: Chiharu Shiota’s ‘Beyond Time.’

We asked Ruth to share her thoughts about the amazing artwork, which can be read below. Happy reading!

“I feel so overwhelmingly fortunate to have the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on my doorstep. It’s such an inspirational place and always has the ability to clear the mind and encourage creative thinking through its art and stunning location. One of the most awe-inspiring installations currently exhibiting is Chiharu Shiota’s artwork, which is housed in a beautiful 18th century chapel in the grounds of the open-air gallery.”

“I don’t have the words to describe exactly how extraordinary this is – it honestly took my breath away with its twisted webs of white threads, entangled sheets of writing and its deeper meaning and messages…thoroughly inspirational and the sight will remain with me forever.”

Chiharu Shiota: Beyond Time is exhibiting until 4th November 2018. We highly recommend visiting (in case you couldn’t tell!).
