We loved meeting so many enthusiastic Creative Writing, English and Communications students.
We can’t wait to see how our brief is interpreted and select who will come in on a two week writing placement within our Editorial Department.
Here’s the challenge:
An exciting editorial placement opportunity within our vibrant creative studio…
The challenge is to write an editorially-led range of unique yet commercial greeting cards aimed at customers between the ages of 21 and 45.
We would like you to consider the world in the 21st century and reflect this in your words. Think about changes in hobbies & interests, society, relationships and families. Can you reflect gender neutrality? How do people really speak to each other and what might they want to say?
Carefully consider the target customer and research what already exists within the market – whether it’s fashion, homeware or greetings. We’d like to see at least 20 examples of compelling, original, commercial, editorially-led styles that are different to what we already have within the Hallmark portfolio.
Be brave and creative. Think about trends and subject matters that are relevant to your customer and consider whether the style should be contemporary, traditional or more fun. Think about the sender, the recipient and the message or emotion you need to convey.
